The First Generation Cars

The Second Generation Cars

The cars of the second generation resemble the cars we have today, though they lacked the majority of the features of modern cars. They had speedometers, windshields, rear-view mirrors and seatbelts. They were introduced in the late 1900s. Following the invention of the gas-powered car, mass production of cars begun as many people started appreciating them. As more cars were produced, more features were added. Vehicles that were produced after 1939 had turn signals, electric windows, and air conditioners.

The Modern Car

More features continued to be added in cars up to the point where major concerns were technology and safety. That is where we are today. We are also talking about green cars which hardly pollute the environment. Modern cars have more safety and technological features than previous sets of cars. Indeed, today, a modest car will have an MP3 player, hard drive, GPS, and an advanced safety system. Other features include keyless entry systems, sunroofs, electric doors, and windows as well as CD players. Performance-related features have not been left behind, with most modern cars having features such as front and all-wheel drive and automatic transmission of gear ratios. Modern cars are also standardized. Their body styles are mainly sporty, hatchback and sedan.

Luxury and Sports Cars

Things have changed fast, and luxurious cars have quickly forced their way into the market. Cars now had fancy features like power steering, cruise control, three-point seat belts, and heated seats. Indeed, the revolution of cars has taken two distinct routes. There is the standard car route and the luxurious car route. Standard cars continue to evolve, with major concerns being energy efficiency and safety. Luxurious cars continue to evolve as well, with major concerns being speed, class, comfort, and safety. Since Lamborghini was founded in the year 1963, we have witnessed a lot of development in sports and luxury cars.

Hybrid Cars

Hybrid cars are able to use different forms of energy for propulsion. For instance, some use both internal combustion engines and electric generators. Hybrid cars are very energy efficient as each form of energy is used where it is the most efficient. We are also welcoming electric and solar-powered cars that will not rely on petroleum products as we prepare for the depletion of oil reserves in the foreseeable future.
